This post provides information regarding Trumpcare and President-Elect Donald Trump's platform as it relates to Pre-Existing conditions.
I would absolutely get rid of Obamacare. I want to keep pre- existing conditions. It's a modern age, and I think we have to have it ... the insurance companies take care of the politicians [and vice-versa]. The insurance companies are making an absolute fortune. Yes, they will keep preexisting conditions, and that would be a great thing."
Toward the beginning of the campaign, and essentially right up until releasing his seven-point plan, Trump held positions contrary to those typical of the party. He stated that he supported the individual mandate, and went as far as to say he wanted to prevent people from "dying in the streets." He has made major concessions to his party, however, with positions like wanting to turn over medicaid control to the states with block grants.
As far as rhetoric, one thing that Trump has not changed is his support for continuing the coverage of pre-existing conditions.
However, his seven-point plan does not explicitly state anything about pre-existing conditions.
